Spring Program: An Evening with Andrew O’Hagan

Join us for a special event with one of Britain’s most celebrated writers, Andrew O’Hagan, at Newcastle Library on Wednesday 14 October 6.30-7.30pm. Andrew will speak to Rosemarie Milsom about his extraordinary career and most recent novel Caledonian Road.

In this wide-ranging conversation, O’Hagan will discuss his remarkable body of work, with a focus on his most ambitious novel to date, Caledonian Road. Hailed as a contemporary masterpiece, the novel follows art historian Campbell Flynn through a London of immense wealth, social division, political intrigue and moral uncertainty, offering a gripping portrait of a society at a crossroads.

A masterful portrait of contemporary Britain, Caledonian Road is hilarious, unsettling and deeply humane. It asks urgent questions about privilege and influence, and confirms O’Hagan’s standing as one of the finest chroniclers of contemporary life.
