Ticketing Terms & Conditions

By purchasing or using a ticket to Newcastle Writers Festival (NWF), you agree to the following terms and conditions.

 

1. Ticket purchase

All tickets are sold subject to availability. Tickets must be purchased through authorised sellers only. Proof of purchase may be required for entry.

2. Refunds and exchanges

Tickets are non-refundable except as required under Australian Consumer Law. If an event is cancelled and not rescheduled, a refund (excluding booking fees) will be offered. Tickets cannot be exchanged for other events unless explicitly stated.

3. Program changes

The festival program is subject to change. Newcastle Writers Festival reserves the right to vary, substitute or cancel events, venues, session times, or participating artists without notice. Program changes do not automatically entitle ticket holders to a refund.

4. Artist participation

Newcastle Writers Festival invites artists to participate on the strength of their work. Views expressed by artists are their own and do not reflect those of Newcastle Writers Festival.

5. Admission and late entry

Late entry may be permitted at the discretion of venue staff and may not be possible once an event has commenced. Seating is unallocated unless otherwise specified.

6. Accessibility and companion cards

Companion Card holders are entitled to one companion ticket at no charge when attending with the cardholder, subject to availability. Please contact the festival in advance to arrange access requirements where possible. Email ticketing@newcastlewritersfestival.org.au

7. Recording and photography

Photography, video, or audio recording may occur at festival events. By attending, you consent to the use of your image or likeness in Festival promotional or archival material. Personal recording of events is not permitted without prior approval.

8. Behaviour and safety

Newcastle Writers Festival is committed to providing a respectful and safe environment. The festival reserves the right to refuse entry or remove any person whose behaviour is disruptive, unsafe, or offensive, without refund.

9. Force majeure

Newcastle Writers Festival is not responsible for failure to deliver events due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, public health orders, or government restrictions.

10. Privacy

Personal information collected during ticket purchase is handled in accordance with the festival’s Privacy Policy and relevant privacy legislation.
