Celebrate the launch of RE-VIEW at Back to Back Galleries on 27 March from 5.30pm to 7.30pm. The exhibition features Hunter region artists who have responded to books by authors featured in the 2026 Newcastle Writers Festival program.
Meet the artists and hear about the inspiration behind their works.
The participating artists are Corinne Bowden, Emma Gathery, Marion Giles, Kay Goodridge, Janet Graham, Maggie Hall, Varelle Hardy, Felicity Howard, Anne-Maree Hunter, Helen Jackson, Catherine Kavanagh, Jane Kerrigan, Alita Knaggs, Hayley Knight, Penny Lee, Claire Locker, Janet Mackintosh, Peter Masters, Margaret McBride, Paul O’Brien, Lily Ray, Sylvia Ray, Sharon Taylor, Catherine Tempest and Anna Webster.
Mediums include ceramics, painting, sculpture, pen and ink, printmaking and photography. Artworks have been inspired by writers such as Thomas Mayo, Carol Lefevre, Rhett Davis, David Grant Lloyd, Kathy Lette, David Barney, Michael and Zara Madrusan, Susan Francis, Robbie Arnott, and Bastian Fox Phelan.
The exhibition runs from 27 March to 12 April, and the gallery is open Friday to Sunday from 11.00am to 5.00pm.
Back to Back Galleries is located at 57 Bull Street, Cooks Hill.
