Newcastle Writers Festival 2014 appetite for local – The Newcastle Herald

The organiser of the city’s burgeoning writers festival may increase Newcastle-focused sessions next year after recognising a hunger for local content, authors and poets over the weekend.
The second annual Newcastle Writers Festival attracted more than 4000 people into the city as 96 writers held a host of sessions at venues including Newcastle City Hall. The festival, presented by the Newcastle Herald, Newcastle City Council, the University of Newcastle and Newcastle NOW, included a children’s program for the first time this year.
