While in prison, Damien Linnane wrote his first book, SCARRED, by hand, and also taught himself to draw. In 2021, he illustrated the book THIS IS EAR HUSTLE, under a contract with Penguin Random House. He has held six solo art exhibitions ranging from Sydney to San Francisco, and is currently part of the Loud Sky exhibition on display at The Lock Up in Newcastle. Damien works as the editor of Paper Chained, an art and writing magazine for people in prison, and is completing a PhD in Law at the University of Newcastle.
