BottomSunil Badami is a writer, performer, broadcaster, academic and storyteller. He’s written for pretty much every major media outlet in Australia, including The Sydney Morning Herald, The Australian, The Guardian, The Monthly, Good Weekend and more, and his creative work has been published in Australia and overseas, including in Best Australian Stories and Best Australian Essays.
Sunil has a BA Hons (Communications) from the University of Technology, Sydney, a Masters in Creative and Life Writing with Distinction (Goldsmiths), and a Doctor of Creative Arts from UTS, where he teaches creative writing, film studies, digital literacies and on the Future of Work. He’s a member of the UTS School of Communications’ Industry Advisory Board, a fellow of Macquarie University’s Centre for Workforce Futures, a member of the Asia Pacific Screen Academy (and former selection panellist for the ASPA Awards), a former chair of the NSW Premier’s Literary Awards Multicultural Prize, and a mentor and manuscript assessor for the Australian Society of Authors, for whom he presented the prestigious Colin Simpson Memorial Lecture in 2017.
