BottomJacquie Svenson is a solicitor at the University of Newcastle Legal Centre and author of the clifi thriller Direct Action, published in September 2019. She is a long-term public interest lawyer and environmental activist. She has been an advisor to a federal senator, a lobbyist in state parliament, and a campaigner for many environmental NGOs, and in 2019 founded local climate group Newcastle Climate Change Response. As part of a PhD at the University of Newcastle she is working on her second clifi novel, exploring questions of intergenerational justice and mothering in a time of climate chaos.
