Steven Faux

Steven Faux is a Professor of Rehabilitation and Pain Medicine at St Vincent’s Hospital in Sydney and co-leads one of the first Long Covid clinics in Australia.

Steven Faux is a Professor of Rehabilitation and Pain Medicine at St Vincent’s Hospital in Sydney. Early in his career he moonlighted as a radio comic on JJJ and worked at the ABC on their medical drama program GP before competing a degree in writing and directing at the AFTRS.

In his medical career his research/teaching work has varied from introducing the use of actors in medical student exams to the development of virtual reality for stroke rehabilitation and pain management. He has been a strong advocate for rehabilitation therapies in the management of COVID and long COVID and was one of the earliest researchers to recognise the chronic phases of COVID and advocate for early rehabilitation services. He has written a book on long COVID for consumers to assist people to commence treatment as early as possible.
