BottomNick Milligan has been a writer and entertainment journalist for over 20 years and is grateful to live and work on Awabakal land. He is the film critic for ABC 1233 and has published three books of fiction – the novel Enormity, short story collection Tomcat Feelings and new novella Guardian. Milligan is also the curator of the annual Newcastle Writers Festival event Words & Music, a concert that invites songwriters to interpret a written work, such as a novel, poem or short story, into song.
Milligan is also a Board Associate of the Live Music Venue Alliance, a newly formed not-for-profit peak body that advocates for and aims to protect live original music in New South Wales.
Newcastle Writers Festival would like to acknowledge the Awabakal and Worimi peoples, the Traditional Custodians of the land on which the festival takes place, and recognise their continuing connection to land, water and community. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging and extend this respect to all First Nations people attending our festival.
