2023 Schools Day Out Bookings Open

Newcastle Writers Festival are thrilled to announce that bookings for our 2023 Schools Day Out are now open.

We can’t wait to return for our first live presentation for primary students in four years. The program is part of this year’s Book Week celebrations and draws on the theme, ‘Read, Grow, Inspire’. Guests include Sara Action, Jared Thomas, Sofie Laguna and Carla Fitzgerald.

In the popular presentations, writers and illustrators perform from their work, talk about their craft and take questions from students. The program also features a series of workshops that offer a more intensive and individual learning experience for Stage 2 and 3 students.

All sessions are being held across Newcastle City Hall, The Playhouse, Newcastle Museum and Newcastle Library. The bus drop-off area is located on Laman Street outside Newcastle Library.

MacLean’s Booksellers will also be operating a bookshop on the lower ground floor of City Hall in the Banquet Room and also at the Playhouse. All presenters will be available after their events to sign copies.
