Catharine Coleborne’s new book examines the history of legal prosecutions of vagrancy in colonial Australia and New Zealand 1840 to 1910 and is published by Bloomsbury Academic (May 2024). Her previous book, Why Talk About Madness? was published by Palgrave in 2020 and focused on late twentieth-century and present-day storytelling about mental illness, care and the public meanings of ‘madness’.
