Heather Stevens

Biography

Heather Stevens is an academic at the University of Newcastle lecturing in natural research management and scientific thinking. She is currently pursuing her doctoral degree at Macquarie University in the relationship between extreme temperatures and aggressive behaviour.  Before academia Heather spent 12 years in federal, state and local government developing climate change policy and programs, particularly in the impacts of extreme heat and sea level rise. Heather is vision impaired and spends a good deal of time on public transport with her two young sons, so has a very personal passion to see better transport systems in place.
