Biography

George Watt is an academic and author who has taught in Australia, Japan and Macau, and held visiting posts in the USA and Singapore.  He was the founding warden of Fenner Hall and Head of Ursula Hall at the Australian National University, founding Professor of Comparative Culture at the Hokkaido campus of Komazawa University Japan, served as dean and professor in the Faculty of Foreign Languages & Asian Studies at Nagoya Shoka Daigaku and, finally, was founding master of one of the constituent colleges of the University of Macau.  While he is the author of university monographs and language text books, Sandpaper Swimming is his first published collection of poetry.
