Alex Spathis is a retired scientist and engineer with a PhD in geophysics. He is the author of The Light Electric Vehicle and the Climate. He worked in the mining, quarrying and construction industry, primarily in research and development for some 40 years. He worked at the CSIRO and publicly listed companies, including stints overseas, in a range of leadership roles. A significant focus of his work was in the measurement and modelling of parameters and features critical to safe operations. Since retiring he has focused on writing, publishing, and tennis, while enjoying more time with family and friends. He advocates for community justice with interests in nature and electric vehicles.
