Brilliant, Bonkers and Bloody: Toby Schmitz in Conversation

Set in 1925 aboard an iconic cruise ship, actor Toby Schmitz’s debut The Empress Murders is a lively jazz-age mystery that subverts expectations of a cozy crime novel. In conversation with Dan Cox, Toby sheds light on the ideas behind the book, which is partly narrated by the cruise ship, and the lasting inspiration of the 20th century.
