

Tim Baker is an award-winning author and journalist specialising in surfing history and culture, working across a wide variety of media from books, magazines and web to film, video, and theatre. Tim is the bestselling author of THE RIP CURL STORY, OCCY, HIGH SURF, BUSTIN’ DOWN THE DOOR, SURF FOR YOUR LIFE, CENTURY OF SURF and SURFARI.
He is a former editor of Tracks, Surfing Life and Slow Living magazines, and a two-time winner of the Surfing Australia Culture Award. His work has appeared in Rolling Stone, the Sydney Morning Herald, the Australian Financial Review, the Bulletin, Inside Sport, GQ, the Sunday Age, as well as surfing magazines around the world.
Tim is currently completing a creative writing PhD on a scholarship through Griffith University on his experience living with stage four cancer for the past seven years, resulting in his latest book PATTING THE SHARK.
