Their first book, As Beautiful as Any Other, was listed by The Guardian as one of the 25 best Australian books of 2021 and was shortlisted for the ACT Book of the Year in 2022. Kaya’s second book, a young adult novel titled Romeo: A Tale of Four Jumps, was written with an artsACT grant and is currently in submission. Kaya’s work explores themes of gender, identity, science, and the arts.
