BottomKate Giles began her working life as a nurse and now works in education on Dunghutti country, on the mid north coast of New South Wales, while studying creative writing through Macquarie University. She writes poems, essays, short stories and fragments. When her father became ill she started writing about him as a way of dealing with the grief of losing him. As a result of this illness writing she was asked to be part of an anthology, Poised on the Pointe of Pain, a publication made possible by a collaborative partnership between Macquarie University and WestWords. She is currently doing her masters of creative writing through Macquarie university.
