BottomJo Peck grew up in Healesville, Victoria. She working in Advertising for 35 years, co-running her own agency, Working Girls Advertising, for 20 of those years.
In 2019 she retired from her role as Creative Director and copywriter to see more of the world. Then events conspired to keep her at home (Covid), and to give her a story (her husband of 25 years dumped her for a much younger woman).
With time on her hands and a maelstrom of emotions to process she began work on her first long form piece of writing. What began as a diary of her misery quickly morphed into a tale of transformation.
Jo’s memoir, Suddenly Single at Sixty, tells the story of the road from shock and despair to an unexpected new life of friendships, romance and racy sex.
Jo is now an evangelist for retaking control of your life, having the courage to face up to your capitulation, meeting mistakes head on and embracing the redemptive power of reinvention. Especially at an age where you think all that might be beyond you. Feel free to bail her up for a chat
