Jacqui Greig, former GP and obstetrician, now writes creative non-fiction exploring nature, science and illness. She has CIDP and is studying genetic counselling while still writing about dis-ease.
BottomJacqui Greig has lived three professional lives: as a country GP, a city obstetrician, and, for the past fourteen years, a writer living with CIDP. With growing public awareness of the condition—helped in part by Olympic swimmer Michael Klim’s diagnosis—she finds she no longer needs to explain it as often.
Jacqui completed a Master of Creative Writing at Macquarie University in 2018, where she discovered her passion for creative non-fiction. Her work explores the intersections of nature, science, medicine, and memory, often reaching from the past into imagined futures. She received the Dean’s Award for Excellence for her thesis, Out of Touch: Losing Nerves and Nature’s Networks.

We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging and extend this respect to all First Nations people attending our festival.
