BottomDom Jacobs, who features in chapter four of NINE LIVES FOR OUR PLANET by John Watts, recently retired after many years as a childcare educator. Dom is married to Brett and is the mother of seven children. She and Brett live on Worimi Country on a small acreage adjacent to the Gloucester River. She is a lover of nature, a knitting nanna, a wildlife carer and a very active environmental activist. Dom is working hard to change a system that allows and supports the rampant destruction of life on planet earth.
Newcastle Writers Festival would like to acknowledge the Awabakal and Worimi peoples, the Traditional Custodians of the land on which the festival takes place, and recognise their continuing connection to land, water and community. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging and extend this respect to all First Nations people attending our festival.
