Biography

When Pamela Whalan retired from lecturing at UTS she returned to her native Newcastle and combining her “love of theatre with her love of the works of Jane Austen” began the task of adapting Austen’s six novels for stage presentation. She is currently adapting Northanger Abbey, which will complete the task. The five plays that she has completed have all had successful seasons in Newcastle, Sydney and some have also had seasons in the US. She has also written scripts and lyrics for three children’s musicals.
