Born in Tamworth and living in Newcastle, Nicole Kimball is currently completing her PhD in Classics at the University of Newcastle. As an avid reader of the fantasy genre, Nicole’s thesis explores the idea of magic and how it appears in literature through history. Nicole has previously worked on a collaborative student art exhibition that brought ancient Greek and Roman mythology into the modern Australian landscape and culture. Her role included both introducing undergraduate photography students to the ancient world and connecting the resulting artworks to ancient mythology. She currently spends what free time she has reading fantasy and science fiction novels and loudly arguing with historically based movies.
