Maree Gallop is a Newcastle award-winning writer and nurse with a master of mental health nursing. Her stories appear in newspapers and various anthologies including, Grieve 2013, Newcastle Short Story Award 2016 (Hunter Writers Centre), Landmarks and Time (Spineless Wonders 2017, 2018) and Award Winning Australian Writing 2016, 2017 (Melbourne Books). Maree creates stories through a reflective process using metaphor and symbolism to provide a unique perspective. She values community engagement and participates in projects for the Hunter Writers Centre, ABC Open, and appears as a guest on 1233 ABC Newcastle. Her goal is to finish her novella.
