James Whelan


James Whelan is a researcher and community organiser with Environmental Justice Australia, working with communities impacted by coal mines and power stations and the rapid energy transition. As director of the Change Agency, he runs training programs for community members campaigning for social and environmental justice. James is a member of the Black Bulga intentional community, caring for and learning from a bush block in the headwaters of the Karuah River, in the Monkerai Valley. He lives on the land of the Awabakal and Worrimi people in Muloobinba (Newcastle).
