Gavin Clark 

Biography

Gavin Clark commenced his studies on the cello at age three with Suzuki teacher Amanda Gibson. At age five, he continued his studies under Takao Mizushima, completing eight grade AMEB and then his AMusA at age 16. From 2000 to 2003, Gavin studied at Newcastle Conservatorium of music with Anthea Scott-Mitchell along with chamber music tutors Elizabeth Holowell and Deborah Lander.Gavin has toured Internationally to New Zealand, USA, UK, Russia, Africa and Europe with the Suzuki Chamber Orchestra and the New England Youth Ensemble as orchestra member and as soloist performing works such as the Hadyn Cello Concerto no.1 in C. Gavin has been principal cellist of the Christ Church Camerata since August 2014 featuring as a soloist and continuo player. In 2015, Gavin commenced studying a Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Teaching (music specialisation) at Avondale College of Higher Education and is due to graduate at the end of 2018.
