Gabrielle is of Sisseton Wahpeton Sioux ancestry and hails from Navajo/Dineh country in New Mexico. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of San Diego, California, and a Master of Science in Sustainable Tourism Management from New York University, New York City. Gabrielle is a PhD Candidate in the Faculty of Education and Arts, School of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Newcastle, Australia. Her research focuses on exploring digital options for effective engagement with Aboriginal stakeholders in sustainable tourism development for heritage conservation and community empowerment. Her research is based on her fieldwork with the Wagiman community in the Northern Territory and the Worn Gundidj and Brambuk communities of Southwest Victoria, Australia.
