Betty Brown

Biography

Sister Betty Brown entered the novitiate in 1950 and was professed in 1953. She served in the school ministry until 2005 as a teacher, principal and library consultant. Since 1998 she has served in the refugee ministry and in 2006, with the assistance of Sister Di Santleban, she established Penola House Newcastle as part of the Josephite Refugee Support Network. In 2015, Betty and Di established Refugees and Partners and the associated Zara’s House, to connect people, culture and services in the community.
